PRESIDENT - ELEANOR GRUDIN (she/her/hers)
Muir College - Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution Major, Political Science and Environmental Studies Minor AS Senator, Muir College Council, Muir College Student Activities Intern, UCSD Club Gymnastics Through my many roles of involvement in the UCSD community, I know firsthand the power student leaders have to make change. As your AS president, I will target: OUTREACH - How many of you are filling out this ballot and dont really know what Associated Students does besides Sun God? If you are one of those people, I dont blame you! As president, I will actively seek to build relationships with students through org visits, public office hours, and by spending time out in the community learning what you want and need. My job is to serve YOU, and to do that, I need to actually know you! ACCOUNTABILITY - First, I will fight for accountability from administration to the students of NOW. As president, my job includes sitting on many committees as the only student to speak for over 28,000 voices. I will use my voice to its fullest power and advocate for current student rights and needs. - I will also hold AS accountable to the students who elected them. We are running to SERVE you and I will make sure that every elected representative is proactively held to higher standards, ensuring the best representation for you. CONNECTION - There are so many resources on campus to support students, but unless told by peers, we often dont know they exist! The Student Advocates defend those who have been accused of academic integrity, the Triton Food Pantry gives undergrads free food, the Hub has free hygiene products. These are a few of the many resources I will make sure we all know of and have ACCESS to. - I will not only continue to advocate for resources that address students' needs, but also work to connect student leaders to those resources so they may share them with their peers. Let's see what we can accomplish when you and I combine our visions for a better future. |

VP CAMPUS AFFAIRS - MELINA REYNOSO (she/her/hers)
Marshall College - Political Science Major, Human Development Minor AS Senator, Thurgood Marshall College Student Council, UCSD Club Dancesport, Kappa Alpha Pi Through my experience as a College Senator I am the best suited candidate to ensure that our student government is accessible, productive, and representative for all students. As Vice President Campus Affairs I will ensure: ACCESSIBILITY By making meetings open to the public via live streams and in person. Our students deserve to be able to voice their opinions and concerns during our meetings, to allow for impactful public information to be shared. By allowing different avenues of communication for students such as social media, in person, and documentation, we will be able to increase student voice and presence. ACCOUNTABILITY By creating a weekly reporting system and sending this out to our constituents, as well as weekly infographics on issues to get student feedback, we can ensure that all members of student government are completing their jobs to better the lives of students. CAMPUS AFFAIRS By hosting and promoting events more than once a quarter AS will be able to get a more accurate read on the needs and wants of the student body. By working in conjunction with the AVP offices to host programs that mirror the policy and advocacy efforts of the Senators AS will be able to holistically address the issues of our campus. REPRESENTATION By recruiting students from different demographics we can send students into campus committees who will accurately represent and be able to create tangible change in their communities through the different avenues of AS. RETENTION By creating documentation and checks in place I will boost retention and productivity of Senate. Through proper training there will be a system that ensures incoming representatives have the knowledge and the resources to be as productive as they can be. |
